started a contest

To motivate myself, I joined a contest to lose weight called the Chubbie Club. It starts tomorrow, and lasts for eight weeks. You take a picture of your feet on the scale before noon (your time) each Monday, and email it to the contest runners. At the end of eight weeks, whoever lost the most body fat wins. They win money, too. Most of the entry fees go towards the prize pot.

So anyway, they have this blog where you can write in and motivate each other, blah, blah blah. I checked it out, and was totally overwhelmed by these psycho people who are already loosing weight before the contest even starts, and going waaay overboard on exercise and stuff. And then here's me, wanting to cram in one more donut/chocolate Easter egg/jelly bean before the contest offically starts on Monday morning.

Pretty bad, huh?

  1. Is this the thing Shawny does? She drives me crazy "I stopped eating candy for a week and lost 8 pounds!" Whatever. My metabolism just doesn't do that for me. That said, I think it is a good idea. Good luck with everything!

  2. Yep. I heard about it first from her. It's not a weight loss program--just a contest. How you lose the weight is up to you (excluding surgery or drugs). I'm leery of the whole lose-10-pounds-in-a-week kind of thing anyway. It's not healthy, and you probably won't keep it off. I'm going back to calorie counting and upping my exercise, since that's what's worked for me in the past. I still get to eat sugar, as long as I have enough calories left in the day. I can't just go cold turkey with no sugar. I'd blow the diet, feel guilty, then feel like it didn't matter anymore anyway, and binge.
